The Guthrie Theater today announced casting for the Shapiro & Smith Dance production of ANYTOWN-featuring the music of legendary singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band Members Patti Scialfa and Soozie Tyrell. Directed and choreographed by Danial Shapiro & Joanie Smith, ANYTOWN follows three families whose lives are entangled in a web of desire and need, and crafts a seamless dialogue between music and movement. An exceptional artistic collaboration pairing choreography with popular hit songs, this dance theater piece uses music and movement as a tool for poignant storytelling to address the concerns of today's middle and working classes. The Village Voice offered that "Anytown invades your heart, and at some moments almost stops it."

ANYTOWN features the talents of acclaimed local dance artists Maggie Bergeron, Jose Bueno, Carl Flink, Emilie Plauché Flink, Megan McClellan, Scott Mettille, Kari Mosel, Eddie Oroyan, Justin Reiter and Laura Selle Virtucio.

ANYTOWN will open on Thursday, June 21, and continue through Sunday, June 24, in the Dowling Studio at the Guthrie Theater. Single tickets start at $18 and are now on sale through the Guthrie Box Office at 612.377.2224, toll-free 877.44.STAGE, 612.225.6244 (Group Sales) and online at www.guthrietheater.org.
