Anthony Hopkins has joined the spectacular historical epic series, THOSE ABOUT TO DIE, in the pivotal role of Emperor Vespasian, it was announced by the show’s studio AGC Television via Chairman and CEO Stuart Ford. The series, to be directed by internationally renowned filmmaker Roland Emmerich, is written by Robert Rodat.

Coming off the incredibly strong performance of its “31 Nights of Halloween” programming, Freeform kicks the holidays into high gear with the announcement of the beloved “25 Days of Christmas” lineup beginning on DEC. 1. As the go-to network for holiday-themed original content and beloved classics, this year's festive lineup includes the premieres of Freeform original feature “Ghosting: The Spirit of Christmas,” with “The Bold Type” star Aisha Dee and “The Guest Book”'s Kimiko Glenn, airing WEDNESDAY, DEC. 4, at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST. “Good Trouble” will air a two-hour holiday episode on MONDAY, DEC. 16, at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST, with the full cast of “The Fosters” guest starring. Beyond belief lies the heart of science fiction and this fall, fans of the genre will assemble at the inaugural Dystopia Sci-Fi Con, a new interactive event featuring a cinematic lineup of sci-fi, cyberpunk, virtual reality, and future noir alongside special guests, panels, exhibitors, and more. The gathering will also host the first half of The 8th Annual Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival, a thriving platform for independent film in honor of acclaimed novelist Philip K. Dick. A number of celebrated actors, filmmakers, and speakers will appear including David Brin, Barney Burman, Elizabeth Karr, Julianna Robinson, Tim Russ, Saku Sakamoto, M.D. Selig, and John Alan Simon. Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the event will run from November 8-10, 2019.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the American premiere of Life After, a rapturously beautiful and stirring new musical with book, music, and lyrics by Britta Johnson. The Globe's own Barry Edelstein directs, with choreography by Ann Yee. Life After will run March 22 - April 28, 2019 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 22-28.
